We provide Outpatient Psychiatric Medication Management and supportive therapy for patients 18 and over. We specialize in function. What do you need to be the person you want to be? We specialize in ADHD and also treat Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD. We prescribe, if indicated; antidepressants, stimulants, mood stabilizers, benzodiazepines (following FDA guidance), and other similar medications.
We don't push or sell any products.
Patients seem to love telehealth but we are here for you in person as well. Now with office visits available Mondays and Tuesdays in the Chatham Wellness Collective in downtown Pittsboro.
I'm interested in being part of my patients search for Mental Health and Happiness. North Carolina based and ready to explore what you're really looking for. This has been a tough one- most patients seem to be in survival mode. Are you depressed or depleted? My approach is collaborative, forward looking, and personalized. Some might say casual in a warm way. Your plan will include talk therapy, exercise, and nutrition. I am the psychiatric medication piece of that plan and am I am honest with expectations of psychiatric medications.
We offer a welcoming and comfortable environment, personalized care, and convenient appointment scheduling to ensure that our patients receive the best possible experience.
Bryan takes about as many people off or on lower doses of psychiatric medicines then he does start or increase them. As an example, were you put on a high dose of antidepressant during a difficult time and now just feel empty? Are you on the 'primary care special' of 200mg of sertraline and 300mg of Wellbutrin and still feel terrible? It might be less medicine that makes you feel better. My goal is "the right medicine at the right dose".
One practice niche seems to be working with adult females who are struggling with depression and anxiety related to functional difficulties- antidepressants haven't helped, we look to see its ADHD. Perimenopausal- a tough time no one talks about- we are going to see if this triggered ADHD and advocate for consideration of low dose HRT before antidepressants.
Will I need a separate therapist? Bryan does psychiatric medication management and forward looking supportive and solution based therapy. This is enough for some, others, especially those with a history of trauma or relationship issues would benefit from a separate therapist good with CBT, DBT, or EMDR. Others might benefit from a 'life coach'.
Arrive Mental Health is part of the Clear Pricing Project. What does this mean for you with the recent change to Aetna? ZERO dollar copays. Please use the 'book with insurance link' below. It is an amazing benefit- use it.
March Note- The state plan is "glitchy" verifying the insurance. If you have any issues, just send us an email @ BryanK@arrive.clinic and we will put it in.
Arrive Mental Health is currently seeing NC patients in network with:
-Cigna
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
-Optum (United, Oscar, Oxford)
-Aetna Commercial plans (from a place of work)
We are not currently in with:
- UNC Health Alliance which is a Blue Cross selective plan. This is confusing for patients. They restrict you to UNC providers only- but they run a ghost network of a hundred providers- most work in the hospital and don't see patients. We asked to join network- told NO.
-Aetna plans purchased on the marketplace- see below, coming soon
-Medicare or Medicaid
We utilize a company called 'Headway' to process insurance. They are great with answering insurance questions and are experts with getting you the right copay for telehealth. Insurance can be frustrating. Reach out with any questions to BryanK@arrive.clinic .
The reality is that it is sometimes just easier or more efficient not to use insurance. It doesn't make financial sense to pay full rates to meet an unreachable deductible. It might be better to book direct below and get same day payment rates for your visit. You will register and then can directly book an appointment.
It is important our styles match up so please say hello if that increases your comfort with finding what you want in a provider.
Bryan is usually described as warm, casual, and caring. Bryan's led a couple different lives as a business major, an entrepreneur, a Trauma ICU nurse, a social entrepreneur, and now as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner the past 10 years. Bryan can usually be found out on the Road, literally, as he is obsessed with completing an infamous Journey Run called 'The Last Annual Vol State'. 314 unsupported miles across Tennessee every July. But Bryan isn't very good as an ultra runner and has only made it 92 and 125 miles the past two years. "It isn't the success that helps me grow, it is when I struggle". Bryan has children off at the Kansas City Art Institute and at Appalachian State. He is married to Julia and you can usually find Bryan at the Chatham County Dog Park with his hound dog Jasper.
Please see the right provider for your condition. This is a smaller outpatient clinic and not appropriate for patients in an active crisis, those with an active substance use disorder, psychotic disorders, hospital or inpatient discharges, medical complexity, or intellectual related behavioral disabilities. Bryan can help with symptoms of those on the ASD Spectrum but if you want testing and wrap around services you should utilize the wonderful specialized services of the Chapel Hill TEACCH® Center.
Bryan is proud to have his office in with a group providing holistic care for the citizens of Chatham county and surrounding areas. Bryan prescribes traditional pharmaceutical medications but also believes there are other ways to explore mental health. At the collective you fill find providers offering Hypnotherapy, Acupuncture, Psychotherapy, Chinese Herbology, and Tong Ren.
Bryan is a national expert in mental health technology. You can find his groundbreaking work at TransmissionMentalHealth.org (our 510c3 nonprofit). Why is mental health so painful and boring? Look for his creative digital intakes to be incorporated into Arrive Mental health soon.
Taking stimulants or anti anxiety medications (benzodiazepines)? A requirement that the patient see the provider in person before prescribing these medications was suspended during covid. This has been extended to 2026 but the DEA and pharmacies are cracking down on out of state prescribers. Arrive Mental Health is local to NC and in person visits are now available in Pittsboro on Mondays and Tuesdays. Our office is downtown in the Chatham Wellness Collective @ 68 Fayetteville St. Telehealth is great. but your provider should be somewhat local. If booking someone online, ask where they are located.
